May is Mental Health Awareness Month so we decided that we should jump in here with some “awareness”! We’ve been playing so much lately that we weren’t even aware we should be aware!
The folks here at The Wise Family often get asked when it makes sense for a family to seek counseling – for an individual member, for the parents, or for the whole family. Every family has its quirks but some issues in families can cause some serious trouble and significantly deteriorate the day-to-day functioning!
Are there times when you are asking yourself if a certain behavior is “normal”? Or is home life constantly in the throes of an endless, stressful, chaotic battle? Individual or family counseling might just be your answer and you shouldn’t be afraid of it!
Problems within every family arise from time-to-time and may vary in intensity depending on the issue. These issues may present themselves because of a mental health issue or from a major life-changing event.
Some common family problems include:
Family battles also come from issues with your child’s ability to tolerate frustration, your communication style(s) within the family, and your own level of stress as parents!
Whatever the cause of your family battle, it can negatively impact each family member’s ability to mentally and physically function.
This is where The Wise Family can help! We are here to guide and inspire families to build resilient communication and emotional intelligence. Our focus is to assess and support emotional and intellectual strengths in individuals and families. We encourage the growth of flexibility, resilience and family connection in order to ensure success both at home and in life.
In addition to psychotherapy and assessment, we work with kiddos and their parents to inspire WISE growth through parent consulting!
Our mission is to inspire, instruct and engage children and their parents to grow WISE together.
So, if that question of whether something is “normal” persists, contact us for a complimentary consultation call to see what options might be right for you!
Be Wise!

Our kids are growing up but we still keep your number on our phone and we know we can reach out to your team if we need it. We tell everyone who asks about the WISE people at The Wise Family.
