Something that makes The Wise Family unique and exceptional is that all of our clinicians come to us with vast and varied experiences in the community; both clinical and school settings. As such, we have been able to develop and maintain relationships with organizations and share helpful resources.
One of my personal favorite resources comes from the Fairfax Early Childhood Partnership. This team is composed of representatives from Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax Falls Church Community Services Board, and local early childhood education providers. Each month, the team collaborates to create 5-4-3-2-1 Tips.
Last month’s tips focused on empathy. Here at The Wise Family, we believe that empathy is an essential life skill that continues to develop over time.

“Dr. Amy knows how to relate to children and make them feel comfortable. My son was shy in the beginning but Amy asked him a couple of questions about what he likes and immediately found a connection with him. He happily followed her into the office (just after a 3 min of conversation) and performed the test. He wasn’t nervous or scared and it’s because of her ability to relate to kids.
We had a great experience and he wants to go back! Thank you very much!”
