Melissa is a counseling intern and student currently working towards her master’s in clinical mental health counseling at The Chicago School in Washington, D.C. Melissa is passionate about helping children and teens by providing a safe space where they can discuss daily life stressors in a caring, judgment-free place.
During sessions, she strives to ensure that each client feels seen and heard and, in turn, develops skills to get in touch with and express their inner worlds. Prior to her master’s program, Melissa completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at George Mason University. During her time there, Melissa worked as an assistant teacher at a Montessori school, working with children ages 18 months to 12 years old, focusing on growing children’s real-world skills and eagerness for learning.
Melissa loves to bake, sings different genres of music, and enjoys embroidering. In her free time, you will find her attending concerts of her favorite artists, going to amusement parks, and reading new books. She is an avid fan of all things Harry Potter, Disney, and Taylor Swift.
