boyleafChildren and their families present with a large number of diverse issues related to learning strengths and weaknesses, emotional skill development, interpersonal relationships and communication styles and preferences.  We believe that individuals have two different yet interdependent intelligences:  rational (IQ) and emotional (EQ).

Rational intelligence cannot perform well without emotional intelligence, and emotional intelligence benefits from the cool cognitive judgments of the rational mind.  When the two work together smoothly and efficiently, emotional intelligence rises as does intellectual ability.  Our goal is to encourage emotional competence in individuals and to assess intellectual strengths and weaknesses to facilitate the mastery of habits of mind to ensure personal and academic success
