For children, creative, constructive and expressive play is a way to communicate and a helpful strategy to assist in understanding their social, mental and emotional development.
Parents usually contact us for help when they feel like they’ve read all the books and tried all the suggestions on the parenting blogs. Or your child’s school or pediatrician might suggest counseling to support your child and family.
The Wise Family team utilizes imaginative play-based strategies including games, art projects, sand tray exploration and more to understand and develop children’s emotional control, along with helping them build self-confidence and improve interactions with their peers.
Being a teen is challenging for many reasons! Trying to figure out where they fit in, what their life is all about and who to keep in it and who to kick out.
For preteens and teens, adolescence is the first time many individuals feel an increase in responsibilities and changing relationships with peers and family members. Teens often feel the need to separate from their parents to form their own identities.
Sometimes it is hard to sort out the typical teen behaviors from ones that are more troubling, and need to be explored.
We offer a safe environment for teenagers to openly share what might be going on in their lives and their feelings and thoughts. We also partner with families to help balance your teen’s need to be independent with your own ideas about how to best parent. Therapy is an opportunity for teens and parents to feel supported in a non-judgemental setting.

Group therapy is an opportunity for children and teens to hear from peers who are likely experiencing the same issues or struggling with the same problems as they are. Groups include one or two therapists working with a group of 4-8 individuals on specific skills or to process challenging situations.
