Kasey: Therapist for The Wise Family
Kasey is a mom to two fabulous daughters, loves mint chocolate chip ice cream, and loves to dance. She has very acute hearing and can track multiple conversations at once! She loves to read, dance and take naps in her spare time. Kasey’s knowledge of the school system and best practices for teaching and learning, paired with her honed counseling skills, leaves her expertly suited to work with children and their families. She believes in the power of play and that all behavior is communication.
She holds a Masters in Education for School Counseling and a Post Counseling Licensure Certificate in Community Counseling. She is actively pursuing licensure in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her professional journey has included teaching, working at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum education programming department, and community counseling. Since 2006, she has worked in Fairfax County Public schools as an Elementary Professional School Counselor and as a Resource Counselor for School Counseling Services in FCPS’s central office.
Amanda: Therapist for The Wise Family
Amanda has called Alexandria home for most of her life. Her ideal vacation is a week at the beach with a good book (or six). She enjoys cooking and baking however she usually gives away most of the treats to her friends and family. Although she does not have her own dog she is an enthusiastic puppy aunt! In her free time you might find Amanda around the fire pit catching up with her friends or scouting new places to photograph.
Amanda completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work along with minors in Family Studies and Criminal Justice at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She is a proud Duke Dog alumnus and followed her time at JMU by earning a Masters degree in Social Work from VCU. Richmond introduced Amanda to one of her great loves, Sugar Shack Donuts, which has thankfully since expanded to Alexandria. Amanda recently became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has spent the last 3 years working as a Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor in an elementary school setting. She hopes to someday become certified in play therapy.

Tim: Evaluator for The Wise Family
Mr. Tim is an avid Washington Nationals, Redskins and Capitals fan. He has never met a meal he didn’t like with the exception of liver and onions, which he will ban if he ever gains a position of power and/or discovers an island. He hopes to someday watch a baseball game from Boston’s famed Green Monster and attend a day game at Wrigley Field in Chicago. His proudest accomplishment has been raising his two children and watching them grow into the stellar young adults they are today.
“Mr. Tim” is a member of our clinical assessment team and has over ten years of experience assessing young clients applying to independent schools throughout the greater Washington DC area. With a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Towson University, “Mr. Tim” works full time for the Department of Juvenile Justice as the Court Psychologist for the 31st District Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in Manassas, VA.
Lynlee: Evaluator for The Wise Family
Lynlee recently moved to the DC area and currently lives in Alexandria. She loves to travel and has been to 5 of the 6 inhabited continents. Her love of football and baseball was cemented after spending 3 years in Boston that coincided with the heyday of the Sox and Patriots. She enjoys cooking, and chasing after her young daughter, husband and mischievous Beagle in her spare time. Her favorite ice cream is a toss up between mint chocolate chip and Moose Tracks.
Lynlee Tanner Stapleton is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the assessment of child development and early learning and behavior. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed clinical training at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University and Boston Children’s Hospital. Amy S.: Patient Happiness Team Leader and Office Assistant
Amy is a mom to two beautiful children, loves sushi any day of the week, and has been known to impersonate a monkey (very well, may we add) at times. She is proficient in Spanish and loves photography, traveling and reading in her spare time. As “the other Amy”, Amy Sosa keeps our practice running smoothly and we couldn’t do the work we do with families without her!
Amy Sosa graduated summa cum laude with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and a concentration in International Business from Appalachian State University. With a strong background in marketing and administrative support, Amy has gained experience working in radio, education, and the sign and graphics industries.
Kelsey: Counseling Intern for The Wise Family
Kelsey is a mom to two energetic girls who love to sing and dance their way through life. She is an avid college football fan. She especially loves the Oklahoma Sooners, and thankfully her husband has become quite the fan as well. Growing up as a military brat cultivated a love of travel that continues to this day.
Kelsey wishes that chips and salsa were its own food group. Her favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip, but a close second is apple cider sorbet from a local Alexandria ice cream establishment.
Kelsey earned her BA from the University of Oklahoma. She is currently finishing her master’s degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. She is serving as an intern at The Wise Family as the final portion of her degree. She will graduate this May.
